six!

Happy Jacob's birthday!
Today is John and Tracy's son's 6th brithday! I am in Austin and I'm going to his birthday party today. We are taking a bunch of kids on a "Party Bus" to drive around Austin and make some mystery stops (for party favors and balloons) and then have cake and presents and dig for treasures in sand at a park.
I will put up some pictures when I can so you can see Jacob and his friends and some of our family.
Love you Grandmommy.

long lost!

Well hi. It's been a while since I've written here, so I apologize.
Things have happened I'm sure since the last post but I don't know how interesting most of them are.
Stuff I can think of are:
-I am moving into a new apartment in Nacogdoches, where I go to school. My roommate and I did not get along very well and now I will live somewhere else with someone else.
-I got all A's in school! It was kind of an easy semester but all A's is brag-worthy any time, I think.
-I saw you and the rest of our family over winter break. In Stephenville, we got to play with the little adorable puppy that Lynn Anne gave to Joel's daughters. Here's a video of the dog! In Austin, I saw my mom and John and Tracy and Jacob.
-Jacob turns 6 years old on Friday, January 11th! Hopefully he will have a great time and he says he will be allowed to play on the monkey bars at school when he is 6.
-I will go back to school on Sunday, January 13th. I'll move into my new apartment and start what will hopefully be a great semester.

I love you, Grandmommy, and I will try to remember to write here often!

Hi Grandmommy. How are you doing?
I just made some delicious chocolate chip cookies. It's too bad I'm not in Dallas so you can help me eat them, because I made a whole bunch. Well, I'll just think of you while I'm eating them and that will have to do.

I am so glad it's the weekend! I like school and work at the library, but it's nice to wake up naturally at 10:30 instead of to am alarm clock at 8:00 am.

Did you know that Jacob, John's son, is in Kindergarten this year? He goes to Zilker Elementary, and I found out they have a website! So you can click here and learn a little bit about the school he goes to if you want. I have heard it's the best elementary school in Austin.
I talked to Jacob this week about school and he said he likes it a lot. Tracy, Luke's wife, says that he is writing more easily and that he likes art more than he did before starting school.
That's Jacob, in John's vest from Indian Guides, which he used to do with Granddaddy (Joe). What a cutie, huh?

Also, Sean and I and our co-workers have been working hard to make the website we are building even better, so you can snoop around on it here. Click on K-12 Teachers to see the new stuff.

Well, I am going to go eat some more cookies. I love you very very much.

BIRTHDAY!!!

Happy Birthday Grandmommy! I am sorry I am writing this so late in the day,so you surely won't see it until tomorrow, but hey - I'm a Bibby, so of course I'm a little bit late.. Did you have any birthday cake? Oooh, I love cake.
I went to Austin this weekend and babysat Jacob, John and Tracy's son. I got to take him to Kindergarten on Friday morning and pick him up, and we played for three days. It was so much fun. I was the babysitter while John and Tracy worked at a BIG music festival in Austin and sold thousands of hamburgers, cheese fries, and watermelon to 70,000 hungry people. Jacob was pretty sure that everyone was going to the festival just to eat his Daddy's hamburgers!
Chris, my boyfriend, and his friend Josh went down there too to help at the burger stand, and Sean was there to play in an Ultimate Frisbee tournament, so we got to see each other too.
I saw everyone in the family except you and Dad, and we sure did miss you two.
Now I have to write a short paper about the President's speech last Thursday.
I love you very very much and I wish you a happy day-after-your-birthday!

under the weather

Hello! I have been sick for the last couple of days, with a fever and headache and achiness but I think I am getting better. Chris made me some soup and we played games, including one that Dad got me for my birthday last year.
School is going well, and so is work in the library.
Here are a few pictures that you may enjoy, Grandmommy They were given to me by a mysterious source who is probably sitting next to you as you read this.
This is from a "Happy Hour" event there at Vickery Towers where
you and Dad put a dollar in the pot, but didn't win.
In this picture are the singer, Cheryl and Karen. "and the winner is..."
This is the Skillman Avenue Church of Christ where you went for so many years.
and this is you as a little girl, probably 6 or 7? How pretty! You always have been a looker.

I love you very much and I'm going to go watch a movie now with my roommate and my boyfriend, and try to get well.

Hello! I am in Nacogdoches
and I am almost done with my first week of school. My classes are these:
-Literary Development in Early Childhood: an interesting subject but unfortunately probably going to be boring because of the teacher
-U.S. History from 1890 to Present: an interesting subject and a funny, dorky, smart teacher!
-Political Science (Government Structure): Probably a boring subject. I had a teacher who I quickly realized was going to bore me all semester so I transferred into a different section with a teacher who comes with recommendations. I'll let you know if it turns out well.
-Introduction to Early Childhood- a teacher who reminds me of Lynn Anne but obviously not quite as awesome. The lab section has a different teacher who is also nice and funny. We get to work with toddlers and also learn how to have teacherly handwriting! Yep, that's right, there's a course for that.
-Math for Elementary Teachers: the professor is nice and has a sense of humor and the math is easy. And I like easy math.

Tonight I am dogsitting for Chris because he has a doctor's appointment in Tyler in the morning so he's at his parents' house tonight. Clementine (see a previous post for picture of Clem and first post for Chris) is sleeping in her kennel right now, probably because it smells like home. Earlier tonight I called Chris and put the phone so Clem could hear him speak and she loved that! So even though she loves me she'll be real glad to see him tomorrow.

Tomorrow is Chris' birthday too and I'm going to make him a chocolate cake. He will be 22. Then we are going, with several friends, to Houston to see a concert of bands from the 1980s: Def Leppard, Styx, and Foreigner. It should be fun!

I love you a lot a lot! I will keep you updated on school and everything.
